Art is valued in our school and we are proud to display children’s artwork throughout school.

Children at Primrose Hill study art for 6 lessons every term. These lessons are over an hour long and culminate in the making of a final piece at the end of each unit of work.

Children are provided with a large, high quality sketchbook which will travel with them as they move through the school, and which they can be proud of.

Art at Primrose Hill focuses on developing these key skills:

  • Colour
  • Pattern
  • Texture
  • Line
  • Shape
  • Form
  • Space

Every lesson will focus on at least one of these key skills whilst also introducing children to the work of great artists, architects, designers and craftspeople.

Children will get to experience drawing, painting or sculpture in every lesson and develop their imagination and skills in these areas.

At least once a term, children will work with our school artist Marie to create something extra special.

If you would like to know why art is such an important part of our curriculum, click on the link to the right to read the NSEAD’s breakdown of the many transferable skills that it will help your child to develop.

The NCA's CEOP Command is here to help children and young people. We are here to help if you are a young person and you or your friend (up to age 18) has been forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity with anyone online, or in the real world. We also have advice and links to support for other online problems young people might face, such as cyberbullying and hacking.
