Primrose Hill News & Important Updates

Parents and Carers of pupils at Primrose Hill have special access to a dedicated CLASS DOJO ACCOUNT which helps keep every updated on what is going on in our school.

When your child becomes a member of our school you will be given a special code to access both your child class and whole school accounts.  We have found this the BEST WAY of keeping all of our parents updated and engaged.  If you would like to find out more, please do ask at our school office.

We also have a very active X account; you can access this by searching for @_PrimroseHill

SEVERE WEATHER ARRANGEMENTS

30th Nov 2025

It is important that everyone knows our school's procedures in the event of very bad weather - including heavy snowfall.

We will always try our very best to keep school open as much as possible. We will only ever close school if we think there is a real risk to our children and staff. Decisions whether to close the school or not are made on a day-by-day basis.
It is therefore important to know how we will contact you:

1. School will always send a text message to parents and carers. This is the quickest and easiest way for us to get in touch with you all at the same time. It is VERY IMPORTANT that we have up-to-date mobile numbers for you.  We will also send out an email if we have an email address on file for you.

2. Messages will be posted on our SCHOOL DOJO PAGE, on our official X PAGE http://www.twitter.com/_Primrose Hill and on our school website www.primrosehillprimary.co.uk
PLEASE follow us on  X (Twitter) - it will ensure you get the very latest school news.

3. School will update Salford City Council's SCHOOL CLOSURES website. This can be found at https://www.salford.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/school-and-education-setting-closures/
This page also lets you know of any other Salford schools who may also be closed due to bad weather or other emergencies.

4. Whenever possible, the school will update the message on its answer-phone every day it is closed. If the weather starts to get bad after school has opened, procedures will be put in place to close the school area by area and to send children home class by class. This will start at EYFS and move up the age groups. NO CHILD will ever be sent home before speaking to someone on the contact forms you have provided.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU KEEP US UPDATED IF ANY OF YOUR NUMBERS OR CONTACT DETAILS CHANGE—THEY ARE VITALLY IMPORTANT.

Young Marketeers Success!

1st Sep 2025

Children from three Greater Manchester primary schools - including ours - have sold fruit and vegetables they grew themselves to raise funds for FareShare. The pupils from Abbott Community Primary School in Collyhurst, Primrose Hill Primary School in Salford and Rodney House School in Longsight cultivated fruit, vegetables and herbs in partnership with School Food Matters and an educational farm just outside Manchester.

The children first planted their vegetable seeds in April and since then, have been learning new skills around food production and selling. The expertly grown produce included potatoes, carrots, onions, swedes and apples as well as lots of herbs and even some fresh eggs. They sold their produce from stalls on Market Street in Manchester city centre at the end of the Summer 2025 term!
