Year 1
The more things that you read, the more things that you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.
- Dr Seuss
Welcome
Welcome to Year 1 at Primrose Hill Primary School! We are looking forward to a fantastic year of learning, discovery and new experiences. Our aim is to provide an engaging, supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, develops confidence and is encouraged to achieve their very best. We look forward to working in partnership with you to make this a happy, successful and memorable year for your child.
Meet the Year 1 Team!
Year 1 Woodpeckers is taught Miss Khan and Year 1 Bluejays is taught by Miss Hume. Other staff you may see supporting both classes are Mrs Walker, Mrs Samir and Miss Ross.
Our Curriculum
We want parents and carers to feel informed about what their children are learning and how they can support them at home.
Our curriculum newsletter will be uploaded each half term to share the key learning, topics and experiences planned for your child's year group. Please check this page regularly for updates. You can also view subject overviews on the curriculum page.
Homework
Children should read for 20 minutes a day to develop their love of reading. Homework is sent home half-termly to support and reinforce classroom learning.
